Big Brother
Note: This is in no way a yoai fanfiction. It is simply a what if scenario showing the relationship between two characters. I apologize if any of the characters seem to out of character. It was just an idea I wanted to try.

He shifted again in his sleep.  Suddenly jolted awake from his slumber, he turned over. A youth in green clothing couldn't seem to find peace in his dreams. He looked at his chamber and remembered the rock cave. He had just explored a huge cavern, almost fell into a huge lava pit, and was nearly  eaten by a huge fire breathing lizard.  Dogongos they were called.

"Man. I can't sleep." he sighed to himself.

He looked around in the room.

The man with the amber eyes, Ganondorf. He keeps haunting my dreams every night I try to get sleep.

Turing over again in his bed, he sighed.

"I'm supposed to be some kind of hero." He said with a sarcastic undertone.  "I can hardly beat a gaint monster much less save the entire world."

He clenched his fist as rage filled his head.

"Why the hell did I have to be the Chosen One?! Why can't someone else save the world!! Why me?!
" He screamed outward. He put his hand over his mouth as he peered and saw a huge figure standing in his doorway.

It was the leader of the Gorons himself, Darunia. Earlier after giving the Ruby, he made them sworn 'brothers.' Link had no idea what the hell what that meant.

Darunia frowned when he saw that Link was in such trouble.

"Is something wrong brother?" the elder rocky giant asked with concern. He sounded worried for some reason.

Link shot the idea of him being worried about him down instantly. I mean what else would that person care about him for. He had only done him one favor and that was it. He then left with the Goron Ruby. His business was enough said and done in Link's opinion.

The elder came closer and sat next to his bed. He looked down at Link who's back still turned to him.

"Nothing's wrong Darunia." Link said protesting him being there.
Darunia sighed.

"It sure didn't sound that way from the outburst." he said scooping the youth into his arms. Link squirmed in an attempt to get out of his grip, but it was useless. Once  a goron got you in a Goron hug there was nothing to do but just sit there and take it.

His grip was gentle.  For some odd reason, Link felt calmed by Darunia's presence.

"Well as a matter of fact, I just keep having the same dream over and over again." He stated. "I keep having these dreams of Ganondorf. They make me question myself. Why was I ever chosen for this? Why did I have to be the one to save the world? Why did I have to be the chosen one? I don't even want to be a hero and yet it seems every day I seem to be getting closer to the inevitable."

Darunia patted Link on the back as he held up against his rocky chest. He stroked his hair slowly and calmly cradled him. He acted as if Link were either his son or his little brother.

"Well I can't answer those questions. One thing I can tell you though is if you weren't meant for something great in this world, then I wouldn't have ever met you." he explained. "You see brother, fate has a way of choosing the best people in the worst of times to lead us out of darkness and into the light. You helped my people that same way and didn't ask for anything selfish in return. I have a feeling that you are destined to do great things. You already have done one great thing and still have many things to come. Do you understand?" He said.

Link looked up. "Yes sir." He replied as he sighed and looked down. Darunia sensed the trouble.

"You can do it Link. For one thing, I love you like as one of my own family members." the chief admitted.

Link was shocked, "But we only just met today. How do already love me as family?" He asked.

Darunia let out a laugh. "You just saved my race. How many times do I have to tell you that? I owe you my life for saving us."

Link never had thought of it that way. He simply thought he just was being nice as a thanks for saving them. He never truly thought that Darunia actually cared about him.

"Big brother?" the young Link asked.

"Yes?" Darunia replied.

"Can you stay with me for the rest of the night?"

Darunia smiled. "Of course I will." He answered.

"I love you brother." Link muttered slowly as he fell asleep.

"I love you too. Darunia said back.

He placing his arm around him lying down curling around the young child. Link's head rested up against the elder goron's chest like a pillow.

The youth fell into a deep sleep and  held onto to Darunia like a magnet. He didn't want to leave him now even in his sleep.

The elder softened and closed his eyes. He wrapped his arms around Link hugging him, holding him, and watching over him like a guardian angel.

"For now, young hero, I'll be protecting you." he said.

For now, Link felt right at home. He felt like he finally  had a true family. He had never had someone make feel the way Darunia did. Darunia was his big brother.
A short Legend of Zelda fanfiction. It is about the brother relationship that Link and Darunia, head of the Gorons, shared in Ocarina of Time. I always have respected Darunia. I got the idea for this after I beat Dogongo's Cavern on Ocarina of Time 3DS.

I hope you like this little short.

NOTE: Navi isn't in this because for one, she would simply ruin the scene.
